4 years...

Hello.

It has been 4 years since the earthquake happen and tsunami hit the Tohoku area.

I was in Tokyo at that time and thought Tokyo got the biggest hit. It was such a big move that I could hardly walk. Traffic system was down and people were in panic.

I got back home the next day and heard all about what was happening in Tohoku area. TV showed Tsunami attacked a lot of people trying to escape from it. I heard so many sad stories and brave stories. After all the bad sequential situation, there are so many problems that we have to solve still now and yes, a lot of people are still suffering from this tragedy.

To me, "Don't forget 3.11" sounds we will forget what happened if we are not trying to remember. But personally. I cannot forget it even if I try to.

震災が起きてから、まる4年が経ちましたね。

地震が発生した当初私は東京都内にいて、あまりにも揺れが大きかったので、その時は東京が一番ひどい被害を受けたのかと思いました。交通機関はダウンし、周りの人はみんなどうしていいかわからない状態で。

翌日何とか帰宅すると、東北地域で津波が発生し、たくさんの人が亡くなられたというニュースを聞きました。悲しいストーリーもたくさん聞きました。そして、追い打ちをかけるように次から次へと被害は拡大し、結果、今現在もたくさんの人がその被害の渦中での生活を強いられています。

私にとって、“3.11をわすれない”というフレーズはなんだか、覚えていようとしないと忘れてしまうことのように聞こえます。でも私にとっては、忘れようとしても忘れられないことのような気がします。

一日も早い復興を。

when Sakura starts blooming...

Hi, there!

In Japan, spring is one of the most beautiful season. Now, Sakura is almost starts blooming and it is just so beautiful. Because I love looking at flower or nature, spring could be my most favorite season IF I woun't be suffering from pollen anymore. I feel fever, sleepy, sick and my nose running and can't stop sneezing even if I took medicine in the morning.

An european lady I met a couple months ago told me that "It is normal that people wear mask in public in Japan but you know what, wearing mask is just ugly."

Ugly? Agree.

However, since I heard this year has 2 times more pollen than last year, I decided to be ugly. I can't survive this season without mask. I wish I could go somewhere where is no cedar.

Anyway, here is a behance link which shows my recent work and the process of drawing. This is a poster work for the local Samba carnival! Sakura season is nothing but hard for people having hay fever but really nice warm beautiful season.

桜が咲く季節になりましたね。私にとって春は一年で最も好きな季節なんだろうと、思うんです。花粉さえなければ。数か月前にお仕事でお会いしたヨーロッパ人の方に、「日本人は公の場で普通にマスクをするけど、本当に醜いと思うわ。」と…いわれてから、確かに一理あると思い、何があってもマスクをしないようにしていたんです。

でも、桜が飛び始めて…毎日風邪の症状、眠気に鼻づまりにくしゃみに悩まされるように、やっぱりなりまして。もう最近は、こんなになるくらいなら醜い方がマシだということでマスクをしています。マスク効果でどの程度花粉が軽減されているかはわかりませんが、ないより良いように思うわけです。

ということで、前置き長くなりましたが、先日、ポスターのお仕事をやらせていただいたので、 behanceにて制作過程を紹介しています！よかったら見にいらしてくださいね♪

花粉さえ飛ばなければ、イベント盛りだくさんで本当に楽しい季節だと思う今日この頃。

illustration with Roardster

Hi, there.
Here is the link on my Behance page of my recent work. They love the Mazda car, roadster and their lovely cat. I feel very comfortable to use watercolor and pencil. the size is about A6 so sometimes it is so hard to draw the detail though.

A6サイズと小さめのオーダーで、もともと小さく描きこむのが好きなのですが細かいところは本当に小さすぎて虫眼鏡を使うことに…！デモ、水彩と鉛筆を使っている時が一番心地いのかもしれません。

Welcome Board at beach

Hi, there.

Here is my recent work of wedding board (which most Japanese wedding has in front of the main hall.) I was asked to draw an illustration for their wedding. I was thinking where they were walking and are walking to. I always love working for wedding board which makes me totally happy.
