Sketch in NYC

Hi!

Here are my sketches for assignment of SVA's Paul Hoppe class.

Each took about 1-2 hours with Gouache.

For the assignment of sketching your favorite view, I choose Riverside Park and Columbia University where my friend took me to before. and Riverside Park was the place I've been wanted to go because it was the filming location of my favorite film, You've got mail. so excited.

Anyway, with the sketches we did, we made a comic at the end of class. I'll show my story here later.

こんにちは！

本日は以前SVAはPaul Hoppeのクラスの宿題で行ったスケッチをご紹介します。

これらはすべて、ガッシュを使って1~2時間程度で仕上げたものになります。

NYのお気に入りの風景をスケッチするのが宿題で、私は以前友人が連れて行ってくれたリバーサイドパークとコロンビア大学を描きに行きました。あ、リバーサイドパークは大好きな映画ユーガットメールのロケ地で、ずっと前から行くのが夢だった場所ですね、はい。

…そんなことはどうでもいいとして、ポールの授業では、これらのスケッチを使ってショートコミックを作るエクササイズをしたので、それもまたこちらでご紹介したいと思います。

My name is Mai Moroe, an illustrator living in Tokyo, Japan. I would like to show my illustration works and personal illustrations through this new blog, so please take a look this f you have some time:)

I've been drawing for almost 2 years and got a chance to challenge the residency program at SVA, NYC with the email which says "Congratulations! Your application for the School of Visual Arts Summer Residency Program has been accepted" This was the first NY visit for me  and first illustration education in my life. I was totally excited and went to NYC.

I came back to Japan July and since then, I've been doing illustration with lots of love and passion.

イラストレーターのもろえまいです。ブログを通してイラストのお仕事のことや作品紹介などなどしていきたいと思っております。以前のブログアカウントをご覧いただいていたみなさまには、色々アカウントを変えたりなんだりややこしい事をしてしまって申し訳ございませんでしたが、もうこちらで変わりなく更新していきますのでどうぞご覧になっていってくださいね。

そしてここでは初めてのブログとなりますので、ここ最近私が何をしていたのか簡単に申し上げたいと思います。わたしは約2年ほど前から絵を描いてきましたが、今年初め頃に、ずっと挑戦したかったことをやってみようと思い立ちました。そして、ニューヨークの美大School of Visual Artsのサマースクールに応募したところ、「おめでとうございます！応募が通りました！」との返信が来たので、大喜びでアメリカに飛び、一ヶ月半イラストの勉強をしてきたのです。私にとっては初めてのNY滞在で、さらに初めてのイラスト教育。嬉しくて嬉しくて、文字通り飛び跳ねて喜んだのを良く覚えています。

7月に帰国してからは、学んだことを生かしつつ個展や制作活動をしています。
